Greetings!

I grew up in Flint Michigan, born in 1952, to a black father, and a white mother. We lived in an all black neighrborhood, and my first encounters with racism were realized in that very neighborhood....

I was in my mid teens before I was directly subjected to white racism, and found that there was little difference between these two monoracial groups when it came to bigotry. Racism is not exclusive to one race or another.... it is owned and maintained by many varied ethnicities.

I have no dream like Martin Luther King of seeing these monoracials hand in hand one day, a quite frankly I no longer care if it occurs. However I do understand the need for myself to be recognized for what I am and for others to understand what I am not...

I am Mixed Race, not black, not white....... and do not wish to be considered as anything other than Mixed Race. Now don't get me wrong, some of my best friends are black.... and white....., but they do not understand what shade of lens I view the world through.... simply because they have never worn them.

Since they are a custom fit. I doubt that they ever will....
