Well, it's short really. I am half Caucasian and half Native American. I am an 18 year old college student living in Minnesota but I am originally from Indiana. Through high school, I had people constantly telling me that I was "one or the other", not both. I got into shouting matches with people over it. People want me to identify with one race and not both. My freshman year of high school I was in a U.S. History class and had the choice of doing one of several projects, and one of the options was to do research on a Native American tribe..and since I am half Native American( Cherokee and Sioux) I decided 2 choose that. I researched the Cherokee tribe.I remember reading part of it aloud 2 the class and as I was going back to my seat, some guy said "You look white so you are white"..No I'm not...I'm also Native American..and proud of it!
