On school and work applications, I fill in the circle next to 'Native American', because I don't want to be an 'Other'. I am 20, I live in Alaska, and I do look extremely white. I have 4 basic ethnicities : Welsh, Native American, Spanish, and Filipino. So I had a 75% chance of having a darker shade of skin. My dad is all Welsh, so I guess thats why I'm all white. I want people to recognize my background, and I want to know what it feels like to be seen as something other than white. I know it probably has saved me from many discriminations, but I don't know. I just want to be noticed as a minority, I never liked being part of the majority. It's suffocating me. I am in a serious relationship with a Mexican, and if we have children, I won't be suprised if they're white. I'm not sure if that had any relevance, but I don't know. I joined this group because now I know there are more people out there with the same predicament.
